Eligible residents in Solihull can benefit from a range of free energy saving measures for their home. Owner occupiers can receive a grant up to £10,000 with no contribution required. Tenants can also benefit from free measures but their landlord will need to make a contribution to the cost of the works.
Available measures include floor, loft and wall insulation as well as solar panels and double glazing (subject to property assessment)
The scheme is targeted at those on low incomes although a number of postcodes are automatically eligible
Energy prices are increasing and this may push more vulnerable people into fuel poverty this year. The energy price cap is increasing from 1st October and Ofgem have calculated that those on default tariffs will see an annual fuel bill increase of £139 from £1,138 to £1277.
