Tidbury Green Neighbourhood Plan

During the latter part of 2022, Tidbury Green Parish Council considered initiating the production of a Neighbourhood Plan for Tidbury Green.

From research undertaken it is clear that neighbourhood plans can deliver many benefits for communities, providing them with much more power to shape and develop the local areas in which they live.

Neighbourhood plans are prepared by local communities, supported by their Parish Council. They allow communities to consider and define the development that does and does not take place, helping to protect the greenbelt, open spaces and ensure that any new homes are right type to meet local need and compliment the local area. Importantly neighbourhood plans consider the infrastructure that is required to support any development. Developing a Neighbourhood plan enables communities to engage in the future vision of the areas that they live and can help to ensure sustainable, harmonious development for families and generations to come.

At the November 2022 Parish Council Meeting the Parish Council unanimously agreed to Councillor Craig Fergusson’s proposal of pursuing a Tidbury Green Neighbourhood plan.

During January 2023  Tidbury Green Parish Council submitted an application for the designation of a Neighbourhood Area for the Parish of Tidbury Green, to Solihull MBC.

On the 6th February 2023 the Parish Council learnt that the application had been approved by Solihull Council.
